#GivingTuesday is a global giving movement fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. It is celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (November 27, 2018) and it begins the season of giving.

This year, our #GivingTuesday campaign is focused on our Jane Horowitz Special Medical Needs Fund (SMNF), which helps SBRN member families and individuals from New Jersey stay medically and financially healthy.

Children born with spina bifida often require dozens of surgeries throughout their childhoods and into adulthood. In addition, their complex medical needs require numerous doctor visits, procedures, medications and assistive devices. The costs can be astronomical over time, and insurance rarely covers all of the expenses.

Our Jane Horowitz Special Medical Needs Fund provides financial assistance to individuals and families impacted by high medical costs related to spina bifida, which are not covered through insurance programs or other sources of funding. SBRN has given over $220,000 since 1999 to help families pay their extensive medical bills and regain financial stability.
