Empowerment Retreat for Adults with Disabilities

Friday, September 20 - Sunday, September 22

Crowne Plaza Hotel, 2055 Lincoln Highway, Edison NJ.

The retreat is a weekend-long interactive and fun event designed for adults 21 years and over with disabilities to explore and experience increased independence, socialization, self-esteem and overall growth through such topics as health/wellness, relationships/intimacy, advocacy and others. Workshops provide ample opportunities for one-on-one and group interactions and are structured in a variety of ways including presentations, hands-on activities, movement and art.  The retreat is coordinated, facilitated and led by individuals with disabilities. Come for one or two days or come for the whole weekend!

This year's theme is: #LiveFiercely through Self Care

Registration: There is a registration fee, based on the days attending, to help cover the costs of the event, which can be paid when you register. Registration is now closed.

Scholarships: This year, with funding from the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, we have a limited number of scholarships available for those who wish to attend but can not cover the costs of travel or lodging.

The Scholarship application process is closed.

Additional expenses: SBRN will sponsor a luncheon on Saturday for all attendees.  Additional meals, personal care assistance and other retreat costs not covered by a scholarship are the responsibility of each attendee.
